Roseanne Barr - "Obama has done fantastic things"

The above video is of Roseanne Barr speaking at an Acorn rally held in California back in February of this year.  Remember, at the time of Miss Barr's statements, Barrack Obama has been in office for only 30 days and very little attention was being paid to the community group ACORN as the release of the James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles video tapes of Acorn staff were still some 7 months in the future.  As stated at the start of the video, Miss Barr proudly admits to being a member of ACORN.

At the time, Congresswoman Michelle Bachman was not unlike a voice in the wilderness raising serious concrns about the ACORN oganization's involvement in partisan politics and voter fraud.  When asked about her thoughts on Congresswoman Bachman, Ms. Barr responded...

"Oh, she's just a shill.  She doesn't know what she is talking about.  I don't even know how she got her job except somebody paid her a lot to go over there and lie."

[Note to Ms. Barr:  If you would really like to know how Congresswoman Bachmann "got her job", I suggest you take a few minutes and read Artilcle 1, Section 2 of our country's Constitution.  That should clear it up for you. ]

Speaking about what she thought of Obama's resonse to the nation's mortgage crisis, Ms. Barr

"I know that he can only do what he can do with what was left. I mean, George Bush walked out the door with all the money...Like not even half of what the lesser thieves stole. That's what he left for the American people to like make their way on, and put Obama in a tough, he dug Obama such a deep hole. It's just not, you know. Anything that Obama does is just fantastic...And he has done fantastic things, and I hope he does some more."

[Note to Ms. Barr:  I have no problem with your defense of the new President by blaming the Bush administation at a time when Obama had only been in office for 30 days.  Of course I do find your assetions that "Anything that Obama does is just fantastic...And he has done fantastic things..." to be a bit over the top.  It would have been appreciated if you had actually cited some of those fantsatic things he has accomplished but then again, maybe that's just me.  After all, at the time of your appearance at this ACORN rally, Barrack Obama had already been submitted for consideration for the Nobel Peace Prize.]

Ms. Barr is then asked about whether or not some homeowners share culpability in the mortgage crisis for assuming mortgages they knew they could not financially sustain.

"On this one I say it is absolutely the banks fault, absoulutely the banks fault!"

[Note to Ms. Barr:  Ever hear of a little thing we call "personal responsibilty"?]

Unfortunately, some seven months have passed since Ms. Barr's appearance at this February 2009 rally and ACORN has since lost its federal funding by Congress, been stripped of its right to participate in the 2010 Census and is basically held in contempt as an organization by the American people.  Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann's popularity has soared among the American people, and Obama continues to astronomically increase our national debt, devalue our dollar, and "stimulate" our economy to a point where our unemployment rate has risen over 10 percent.

On the bright side, President Obama has won the Nobel Peace prize!  I guess for all those fantstic things he has accomplished in the first 30 days of his presidency.
